Role overview
HubSpot is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead secure, scalable identity and access solutions and influence org-wide security practices.
You'll deliver hands-on security engineering while partnering across teams to embed security into the SDLC.
Responsibilities
- Lead secure architecture and development for identity/access systems.
- Partner with engineering, security, product, and legal to align on secure delivery.
- Guide best practices and mentor engineers across the org.
- Help shape security for AI initiatives.
Key expectations
- 10+ years in software development and information security focused on identity, access, and cryptography.
- Experience designing cloud-native identity infrastructure and security services.
- Expertise in Zero Trust, network security, and public cloud security.
- Experience leading large-scale migrations safely.
- Security for AI/ML systems (data, models, agents, deployments).
- Comfort with AI dev tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT.
- Strong mentorship, communication, and knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and GDPR.
Pay & Benefits
Annual cash compensation range: $188,500-$301,600 USD, plus potential bonus/equity and benefits.
Remote role in the USA with required regional office onboarding for Engineering and periodic in-person events.
